The Big Day Requires A Bit Of Smart Shopping
Smart shopping for the big day (otherwise known as the wedding day) can entail a lot of separate actions that go into making the day truly memorable. Clothing, personal looks and an element of style revolving around jewelry all go into making the wedding photos, among other mementos, things that will last a long time when it comes to remembering how everybody, including the bride, looked on the big day.
What it all comes down to is the bride, of course, as most grooms would say to just point them to the altar and let the fun begin, right? Today, most brides seem torn between a very traditional look in a dress or something like a strapless wedding gown. Both are equally appropriate, at heart, though some fashion experts may say that a strapless look might be more appropriate for the middle age and younger set.
The wedding industry is a multibillion-dollar concern in this country and endless other subsidiary businesses make a quite lucrative living off of that particular activity. Consider that just about every bride — and more than a few grooms — nowadays is going for laser hair removal from various parts of the body prior to the wedding day. And truthfully, such removal is probably cheaper over the long run than older style waxing.
To gain an idea of how important it is to shop smart, shop early and shop often when it comes to anything involving the wedding consider all the manic-looking brides depicted on a variety of ‘bride wars’ type wedding shows. Most end up that way because they’re afraid they’ve missed some small detail when it comes to the wedding. Jewelry plays a big part when it comes to the brides (and even the grooms), as a matter of fact.
For example, no self-respecting bride on one of these programs would be caught dead wearing cocktail jewelry at a wedding. And if one of her bridesmaids happened to be tasteless enough to do so, well… It probably would make for very exciting television, to say the least. In truth, there’s a whole range of bride and bridesmaid jewelry that should be worn and any bride of style and taste knows this.
It almost seems as if today’s bride is being deliberately driven to distraction, and most men dread having to go out shopping for wedding things with their future brides. This is probably for good reason, as most men look at shopping for anything outside of a bass boat or a new sports car as being akin to having to run over hot coals barefoot. Fortunately, though, the Internet is helping to change all of that (except for the dress).
In the end, most men — even combat-hardened ones — would fall apart at the thought of having to line up what a bride has to line up, including the dress, the jewelry and the personal look. The thought of eloping probably would appeal to men if they had to undergo just a 10th of what the bride goes through, to be honest, though almost every man and woman — at least in the moments after the wedding — would say it was all worth it.
