Pink Bridesmaid Dresses: How To Look Great In Pink

So you are a bridesmaid again but this time it is a pink theme.  Pink flowers, pink favors, pink invitations, pink decorations and of course, pink bridesmaid dresses. Although pink can be an absolutely beautiful and striking color, your skin tone and hair clash with that color and you just aren’t sure what makeup or accessories to add to keep it all good.

Here are some great tips to keep all eyes on the bride and not the color of your bridesmaid dress.

1. Do not wear a bright colored eye shadow or blush. Keeping the colors as close to nude or skin toned as possible will go a long way in accentuating the beauty of the dress and not clash with the colors.
2. Best to look for a nude or neutral lipstick along with a nice neutral eye shadow. Tone down the eye shadow and instead choose to accentuate the eyes with a little liner, mascara and subtle false eyelashes.
3. A muted or soft pink shade or one that complements your skin tone is best to stay within the overall neutral color scheme.   This way the only thing that will stand out is you and not your makeup.
4. If the bride to be is agreeable, opt for a pair of nude sandals or shoes that are neutral or muted in color. This way the first thing someone will see will be you and not your shoes.
5. If the weather is a bit on the chilly side and the bridesmaids need a cover up, look for a muted color wrap or shawl.  Since this will only be used to go in and out of cars and venues, it’s not as important, but if someone happens to snap a pic, you want to be sure to look the part.
6. They say redheads can’t wear pink?  I disagree. Be sure to keep the makeup toned down and pull your hair back or away from your face with some elegant pins to keep the color of your hair from clashing with the pink in the gown.
