How to plan the perfect wedding day

Fun Wedding Music Pursuits

Music is as much an element of a great wedding as food and drink. You might have a wedding party without music, but it’s likely it will appear in a little quiet and dull. So whether you have a full live band, a string quartet, a DJ spinning tunes or recorded music from a boom box, it ought to be included.

But music’s not just for dancing. There are a myriad of activities you can plan around the music that will add an ingredient of fun to your big day.

One favorite idea is to play musical chairs. Sure, this is a enjoyable kits game and you wouldn’t want to insult your guests at all, but you may have some fun with this variant of musical chairs. The chairs may be almost anything, from chairs queued from the food tables, to the floor, if you think your invited guests may be open to sitting on the ground (and then needing to get on my feet and down again). One fun alternative is to use the men as the chairs – they kneel on the floor, with one knee on the ground and the other bent. The women sit gently on the men’s’ knees as they are playing musical chairs. When either the man or woman falls down, that couple is out, until one couple is left.

Some newlyweds like to play musical chairs as a way to give away the table focal point, which lots of guests like to take home. Instead of assigning a number and awarding the focal point to the individual in possession of that number, you have every table play musical chairs until the individual left standing is the one that grows to take home the centerpiece.

How about a rousing game of “name that tune”? This is a game that is better for a smaller, intimate wedding where everybody knows the bride and bridegroom well. Prior to the wedding, which a person is planning the marriage ceremony should get a directory of favorite songs of both the bride and groom. Build a CD of those songs, and then build a game of “name that tune”. Guests may be broken into teams and then be played just a tiny snippet of each song.

After guests hear that first snippet, they can then “bid” on how quickly they can name the tune. So one set may say they can name the tune in 10 seconds, while the other group might say 5 seconds. Once one group has bowed out, the other group in turn will have to “name that tune”. This is a fun game that gets everybody active and which the bride and groom are particularly delighted by.

Depending on the style of the wedding ceremony, the’re many fun games you can play to have the bride and bridegroom out on the dance floor. Now, if this is a very large and very elegant wedding, this alternative may not work since there’s certain decorum to keep up, but for a casual, fun, family-centered wedding large amount of these games can be fun.

If guests want to “call out” the marriage ceremony couple onto the dance floor, they are often asked to go out on the dance floor themselves first and hula hoop or perform their own version of a break dance. Much in the way guests often times have to “perform” to get the pair the kiss this is a different way to get the guests involved and having fun in order to create fun wedding memories for the bride and bridegroom.
