While it is helpful to know your own style of course, limiting yourself to the “safe” dress options can also result in a rather dull bridal ensemble. Some women are crazy for fashion, drama, and exciting style, and they are likely to explore a wide range of options when shopping for a wedding gown. Unfortunately, no; she hid under a “safe” dress with an A-line skirt. It was beautiful, but not striking nor extraordinary like the fitted gown.. This bride shows that self-consciousness can keep you from looking as gorgeous as you truly are.
Then there are those brides who have very plain taste. “I want a plain gown”, they will state, “Nothing too fancy”. First of all, a bride cannot be overdressed for her own wedding! If feel like you can’t get all dressed to the nines in a fabulous gown and gorgeous pair of pearl earrings for your wedding day, the chances are that you will never feel like you can in your whole life. Don’t be afraid to experiment with bridal gowns which have embellishments and details, even if your usual style is plain, plain, plain. Break out of your shell and surprise your family with a fabulously detailed gown. I knew one bride who wore jeans and a button down shirt every day, she had no interest in fashion. She chose a feminine silk satin gown with a pearl beaded lace bodice and broke out of her “plain Jane” image. It was amazing on her, and the guests were stunned when they saw how gorgeous and romantic this young woman could be.
Avant-garde and unique wedding gowns can end up being the most remarkable ones, if only brides will take a chance on something out of the ordinary. If your taste leans towards simple and classic, take a risk and try a bridal gown with a flashy or unique bodice– it might knock your socks off!
